**Lathe Machinist - 2nd Shift - Poway, CA - $26/hr-$30/hr** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist who thrives in a high-volume CNC machine shop environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at setting up and operating CNC Lathe machines with minimal supervision. This role requires a self-motivated, focused, and organized team player, experienced in handling production runs and setups for repeat jobs. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. + Utilize Fanuc Control systems, with Okuma experience being a significant advantage. + Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. + Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. + Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including tool wear, dimensional deviations, and machine errors. + Maintain tight tolerances and surface finishes as required by engineering drawings. + Collaborate with engineers and quality control to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency. + Perform routine maintenance on machines and ensure a clean, safe work environment. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience with lathe machining and setup. + Proficiency in CNC setup and operation, particularly with lathe machines. + Expertise in using micrometers and calipers for precision measurement. + Knowledge of blueprint reading and machining processes. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with Fanuc Control systems is mandatory; Okuma experience is highly desirable. + Strong troubleshooting skills to address machining issues effectively. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic and fast-paced machine shop that values teamwork and efficiency. The work environment is focused on maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $40.00/hr.
