Job Description

Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Crude Oil Scheduler in Dallas, TX who will be responsible for conducting high-level assignments for the Crude Oil Supply department with minimal supervision.

Job Duties

 

  • Leads and assists with overseeing crisis management for situations involving conflicts arising out of short-term or long-term refinery/logistical problems causing product throughput shortages, refinery cutbacks, customer complaints, etc.
  • Schedules monthly/daily product oil transactions into the assigned refinery and at all trading points, including bulk and lease purchasing.
  • Monitors daily assigned product inventories and pricing and implements delivery or movement strategies to maximize profit.
  • Researches market conditions and communicates to the manager.
  • Assists with crisis management in response to supply interruptions which may include production, pipeline, other transportation issues, storage, or refinery interruptions.
  • Researches and resolves invoicing and loading issues relating to the sale of assigned petroleum product
  • Purchases assigned crude to support refinery plan and maximize profits.
  • Ensures all crude oil for the refinery supply and trading is nominated and scheduled to the appropriate location.
  • Tracks exchanges, receipts, and exchange balances.
  • Enters schedule and volumes into the assigned system.
  • Ensures contract obligations are fulfilled
  • Reviews and ensures the accuracy of contract information in the assigned system.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of crude oil inventory by system.
  • Maintains minimum inventory requirements, movement, and review.
  • Ensures accuracy of all invoices and cumulative balance are kept at a minimum.

 

MAY ALSO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES INCLUDING:

  • Review all company contracts and pricing for accuracy, completion, and delivery promptly.
  • Acts as liaison with traders, customers, and other departments regarding contracts and pricing.
  • Creates and maintains agreements and master data customer, vendor, and contract forms (deal sheets).
  • Updates and maintains a procedure manual for Contracts & Pricing Requirements.
  • Ensures accuracy of all invoices and cumulative balance are kept at a minimum.
  • Obtains all customer/vendor information to set up master data in SAP.
  • Liaises with other departments such as Refinery, Credit, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Tax, and Data. Integrity to ensure assigned customers receive excellent customer service.
  • Ensures contract and pricing documentation is compliant with Audit and SOX requirements.
  • Handles all aspects of issue resolution and facilities clearing month-end errors.
  • Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 1- 15 years of job-related and industry experience is required. 

 

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, in a technical or related field, or equivalent work experience lieu of a degree, is required.

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills particularly in MS Excel to provide written reports and spreadsheets as well as the ability to learn new programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal.

  • Intermediate knowledge of safety, environmental, and transportation regulations and procedures, and capable of writing effective instructions.
  • Ability to maintain positive and productive working relationships within the department and with other departments.
  • Intermediate reading and writing skills; ability to perform intermediate-level mathematical calculations.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

ECC functional/end-user experience preferred. SAP SD/MM, TSW knowledge is preferred.

Office-based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
