Position: Human Resources Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:  Under minimal supervision, performs office duties for the Human Resources Department, maintains personnel files in the department, answers incoming telephone calls, file completion, and greets internal/external customers needing assistance. Completes HR tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Maintains records updated and provides the information necessary for other departments to process. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for receiving all visitors/customers to the Human Resources department and receives all incoming calls to the departments main telephone extension in a courteous, helpful manner. 
  • Determines the customer’s nature of business and provides appropriate assistance and/or referral to another appropriate staff member. 
  • Responsible for maintaining forms, ordering supplies, checking in evaluations, and making sure all employee documents are filed appropriately and timely. 
  • Helps coordinate our employee benefits program through participation in various activities such as Open Enrollment, the NEO benefits meeting, and communication with the Corporate Benefits department. 
  • Able to perform other job duties as assigned accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Promotes a safe work environment for the facility.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience in Human Resources preferred
  • Previous confidential office experience preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits administration preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

  1. Ability to read and write in English.
  2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others.
  3. Ability to remain calm under stress.
  4. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
  5. Bending, lifting (10-20 lbs.), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
