Essential Job Duties

We are hiring a Construction Building Inspector for our client's Quality and Safety Services.

The position of the Construction Inspector will support our client's construction inspection and work as a member of the client's Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within client's Tenant Improvement Program primarily focusing on building disciplines.

Candidates must possess a minimum of ve (5) years of experience performing inspection

Candidate must demonstrate a clear understanding and interpretation of LA City Building Code & ADA Requirements

Candidates must have the ability to walk extremely long distances during the shift as this is the primary means of traversing between expansive terminals.

Candidate must be able to climb stairs, ladders, sca old, and crawl into areas associated with the work taking place in the terminals.

Candidate must be able to work the day, swing, modi ed, or night shifts, including weekends as dictated by the contractor's schedule.

Duties:

  • Conduct comprehensive daily inspections across building and terminal construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project speci cations, review and interpret construction documents including blueprints and shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Demonstrates strong pro ciency in preparing comprehensive daily inspection reports that clearly document the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and HOW of all observed construction activities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and accountability in tracking progress and identifying issues, de ciencies, or safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Verify contractor compliance with local jurisdiction's requirements, building codes and client- speci c proprietary standards.
  • Support special inspections and testing activities, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies as needed.
  • May be tasked to Track and document time-and-material work, eld changes, and job quantities
  • May be tasked to Assist in validating contractor progress payment requests based on an approved schedule of values.
  • Perform inspections related to building construction including, but not limited to:
    • Clearing, grubbing & demolition of building structures.
    • Excavations, trenching & shoring.
    • Grade & elevation survey.
    • Structural Back ll & compaction for underground utilities.
    • Structural & Nonstructural concrete work.
    • Formwork, Footings & micro piles.
    • Sewer & Storm drain inspection.
    • Metal stud framing drywall installation & interior nishes.
    • Door & hardware with its components.
    • T bar ceilings, hard lids & other re rated components

Qualifications

Required Qualification:- Years of Experience/Education/Certificates/Training:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of Five (5) years of experience performing inspection Training in the use of fall protection equipment and harness with lanyard.
  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • Con ned space awareness certi cation.
  • Cal OSHA 30 hr. training and certi cate.
  • NFPA 70E certi cation required for electrical inspectors.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • ICC certi cations and Deputy Inspector Licenses are preferred but not required.
  • Inspectors with good knowledge and ability to inspect large scale construction of airport and public building facilities, which may include steel and concrete structures, architectural nishes and components, and other construction related to the airport terminal operations to ensure conformance with safety regulations, plans, speci cations, and other applicable documents.
  • Expertise in identifying and addressing de ciencies, ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards
  • Possess good knowledge of LA City Building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Experience in but not limited to inspecting demolition and the construction of buildings from start to nish.
  • A strong understanding of diverse requirements
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

Wage Requirement

Starting Salary range for this job is $129,635.00 - $149,150.00. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment
